About SEEChess
What is SEEChess?
SEEChess — short for South Eastern European Chess — is a free, community-driven tournament calendar for chess players planning to compete across the region. We track open tournaments in Hungary, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, and Bulgaria, with details on dates, prize funds, entry fees, time controls, and direct links to official sources.
Whether you are a titled player looking for your next norm opportunity or an amateur hunting a well-prized open, SEEChess gives you a clear, up-to-date picture of what is happening across the region — all in one place.
Founded by GM Alexander Delchev
SEEChess was created by Grandmaster Alexander Delchev, a highly experienced chess professional and active tournament organizer with deep connections across the South Eastern European chess circuit. With decades of experience both over the board and behind the scenes, GM Delchev recognized the need for a single, reliable resource that brings together the region’s tournament landscape.
His vision is simple: make it easier for players from India, Europe, and beyond to discover strong tournaments, plan their season, and connect with the South Eastern European chess community.
